Re: South Alabama Mud Run
After discussing what we are going to do for lunch we have decided that we will launch at Scott's and eat there under the pavilions. We are going to cook burgers and hotdogs/sausage dogs. We will be bringing plenty of good but if we could get people to bring something that they may want to grill that will help us out also that way nobody goes hungry. We were goin to eat at one of the restuarants but we think it will be a cluster with so many people. The restuarants are busy on the weekends anyways. Is this ok with yall? I believe there is a boat launch fee at Scott's but the only people that will be there is the people who are attending the run and maybe a few other local fishermen.

Re: South Alabama Mud Run
Schedule:
Launch 10:30 at Scott's. Lunch/meet and greet 11:00-12:00 at Scott's
After that we will ride. Be sure to bring extra gas. We will ride all day and possibly try and go eat at a restuarant for dinner if that's what y'all want to do. Only problem is the restuarants stay packed on Saturday nights so maybe just do what you got to do for dinner.
Next year this run will be more organized. Y'all just bare with us!
Can't wait to meet everybody. If anybody has any better ideas for eating or anything in general let us know.

Re: South Alabama Mud Run
Dguidry there are a decent number of hotels just across the bay in daphne. Coming from your neck of the woods I 10 Is your best bet it will take you across the bayway where the launch is. Here is a link to a map of multiple hotels. All are 3 min from the launch. https://www.google.com/maps/search/hote ... 913318,14z

Re: South Alabama Mud Run
Do any of you fellas know if there are pockets of Cajun or French decendant families or neighborhoods in the area where remnants of the French or Cajun dialect dialect might still exist? Mobile was the first port of entry for some into the Louisiana territory before New Orleans became a major port. If you know of any please post up information. I'd like to visit with them.

Re: South Alabama Mud Run
http://www.city-data.com/states/Alabama ... roups.htmlAlabama's Cajuns, of uncertain racial origin (Anglo-Saxon, French, Spanish, Choctaw, Apache, and African elements may all be represented), are ethnically unrelated to the Cajuns of Louisiana. Thought to number around 10,000, they live primarily in the pine woods area of upper Mobile and lower Washington counties. Many Alabama Cajuns suffer from poverty, poor health, and malnutrition.
