Post Veteran mud run
Does anyone want to try to set up a veteran mud run, somewhere that everyone can join in on, just putting a feeler out

I'd be down for something like that for sure depending on when and just how far.

Get it started, I'm sure plently of people would be in for a good cause. I've been wanting to do one of the veteran fishing tournaments just to so my appreciation, but seems like everyone I find I am working the weekend of.

Id be down for a ride and would be willing to help out whatever. Either Wallisville or SETX would be ideal seeing how almost everyone from TX with a mud motor is the general area and LA is close

Let us know what you find out and we could set something up, general SETX area would be ideal since theres alot of people. I'll be more than willing to tote around a boat full of veterans for the day and im positive many others here will be too.

November through end of January I won't go anywhere just to ride. Sorry. This boat is setup for duck season during that time, and that's all I'll be doing when I'm not working or sleeping.

That time of year is when your going to find mainly mud and theres not but like 2 places in SETX that hold good enough mud and that's wallisville and port neches, just about everywhere else is sandy. Early-mid February is when lake miller is usually completely empty and the mud in there is about perfect to ride in. That would be fun only problem would be the SETX ride is around the same time..

How exactly are you wanting to do this? Like take vets out to the ride or a fundraiser type ride like everyone that brings a boat pays $20 or something to ride then it all get donated? Or both?

Probably sell food and drink and maybe have a raffle if I get support so we can get veterans out to hunts or outdoors events

That would work. I was thinking along the lines of like maybe $20 "entry fee" per boat and put that all towards a vet foundation like lone survivor foundation or WWP. Alot of these guys i know would be more than willing to pay up $20 knowing it's going to something for a good cause. $20 donf sound like much but It all adds up in the end.

Cameron parish. its kinda out of he way. My point is there has to be somewhere else to ride. I am up for anything though. if there is no where else to ride it don't matter I just enjoy being out on the water/mud

I tried to put a ride together similar to this a year or so ago. Tons of volunteers for boats etc.
We had decided Wallisville was the best spot, because of the pavilion to take a break at during lunch.

I got in touch with CajunDan (He's a member on here) - He is part of the Banded Brigade Outdoors.
http://bandedbrigadeoutdoors.org/

They take Veterans hunting and other activities.
We had spoke a length on the logistics of this, and basically he could put me in contact with the actual Veteran's to take out for a day on the water.

Honestly I got too busy with other things (Mostly a new child) and haven't had the time to resurface this endeavor.

November would be a good time to do this (In the split) as it is usually a little cooler for everyone. Or maybe October, or early spring.
