Haven't checked here in a while. Several of my friends went out on Sunday... out of Okee Tantie. Pretty bleak looking opener so far.

Extremely slim on ducks from Eagle Bay to IPC. Could be a very bleak opener. Not real excited about it this year.

Gonna be out there tomorrow am early. Leaving from twin palms looked decent to Moore haven but that could have changed.

Taking Monday off to do some looking around between Eagle Bay to Twin Palms. I'll be out of town at a seminar the rest of the week so this will be my last scouting opportunity.

I try to stay fairly close early in the season. Later in the season we work Twin Palms to Moore Haven over.

Do you know why the Moore haven canal is closed?[/quote]

They are working on trying to improve the flow ... marsh / canal.

Scheduled to be open in January...

I saw some ducks but the numbers were low in the marshes. Not very excited about opening day this year. There might be a duck for every Hunter that will be out there.

So I'll get my 2 for me and my pops and start drinking early at anglers.

Out of the 300 birds I have been watching only a handful showed up this morning. Terrible opener.

When I went to my spot there were about 100 birds in there already. They came back and landed all round the boat about 3am. As soon as they heard an airboat fire up a couple miles away... they were gone to not be seen again.

The only positive is the area was not very crowded. One guy set up 400 yards from me. The next closest was a quarter to half mile away.

I had a totally different experience, hunting west of IPC. Almost a 2 man limit and enough around to keep em flying.

The afternoon was a different story. Would have made an awesome TV show. Took my wife and we were done with a 2 person limit in 30 minutes. Tonight was just as good, if not better, getting a 3 man limit in short order.
