Post Osceola hunt
Looking for Osceola hunt south of Orlando for 2

Can trade for a number of hunts...options available:

Spring Turkey hunt in Paxton, NE on 3200acres of private land...our land is located directly on the N Platte River. We have a cabin that is fully powered. There are Rios, Merriam, and hybrids. We normally kill 8-10 birds on a 5 day trip between 3 or 4 of us that go.

Duck hunt on the same place. We have warm water sloughs that WILL NOT freeze...also have several blinds along the river. Usually 95% mallards with a few teal/wigeon mixed in. We have a 200acre feed lot that is deemed our "sanctuary" that usually holds anywhere from several thousand to as many as 10K mallards. We usually take 10-12 ppl a trip...and normally make 3 trips a year ...Dec 1 ....Dec 15....and after Christmas ...I won't really know the availability situation for these trips until August or September

Offshore fishing trip on a 60' custom sport fisher out of Charleston, SC anytime from may-august.

Also have hog hunts and alligator hunts but FL also offers the same.

If interested, shoot me a PM and we can talk. I'm open to anything

Thanks in advance

Hell, we'll pay $500 a bird...I just refuse to pay an outfitter $1800

I've made 3 trips down to Florida over the last 4 years and hunted public land every time....and every time it turned into a disaster, primarily BC of the lack of respect other hunters had for my buddy and I. It's not really a "respect" issue as much as it is a SAFETY issue!!!

After I had a ignorant assed idiot bushwhack my strutter decoy 2 years ago I haven't been back. I had a father/son sneak to within 60 yds of me on the edge of a pasture and unload 6 shots between the both of them on my decoy....thank god we weren't in-line with their shots.....oh yea, the actual real strutting Osceola that we hunted for 3 days straight and finally had "pegged" was about 90yds out and slowly making his way towards the decoy...up to the point where dumb, unsafe, unethical, idiot, moron father and son Rambo my decoy...they even managed to get a few pellets in my hen decoy that was a good 3-4yds out in front of the strutter

Bad thing is...these birds were so heavily pressured they would run at the sound of a call...

We we're sitting shoulder to shoulder, hadn't called all morning long, and he only gobbled 2x on the roost and 2x when he hit the dirt.....these idiots just creeped up on is and banged away

Sorry about your Fl. osceola hunting experiences. I have only been able to hunt public WMA's down here. Last season I got busted twice by out of state hunters- twice it was their vehicles roaming down roads that are closed to motor vehicle traffic. Opening weekend was ok this year, no one intruded and everyone was courteous. The birds have been reticent, and it is true that our birds are generally less vocal than Easterns or other species. I call sparingly but stay the course. Hope you find a hunt!

Would you be interested in a turkey hunt in North Louisiana?

Wish I could help you, but all my Osceola hunting is on private land that I am not allowed to have any guests outside of my immediate family. I haven't shot a bird in a few years due to my 9 and 7 year old sons hogging all the action.

My brother in laws does quite a bit of guiding, but he has to pay the landowners $500 (at least that was the price 3 years ago) for every bird harvested. Add a guide fee into that and you have some serious money tied up into a turkey.

Turkey hunting down here is insane, problem is we get to many outta state assholes that will wipe out a whole flock just to say they killed an Osceola. My dad ran poachers off last year they were bringing people out killing jakes, and 2 year old birds. I guess money talks

If you are familiar with a particular bird on familiar property then yes...its easy to tell. New property and a single bird (no strutter and subordinates) is a bit of a different scenario

They all taste the same.... but those birds with 1.25" and longer spurs really taste a little better with every bite for some reason....

My brother in law is $1500 minimum. He said the price he has to pay the landowner per bird has gotten ridiculous. The landowners turned it into a bidding war between the guides. My brother in law does very little guiding now because " who the Hell is going to pay that kind of money for a damn turkey". Another buddy of mine runs Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee. He charges $3000 and it includes 3 nights of lodging, meals, 2.5 days of hunting, fishing in a pond that is stocked with the bass Johnny Morris culls from going to the store tanks. Johnny Morris was fishing in the pond after a hunt and caught a 15 or 16 pounded. There is also hog hunting, quail hunting, and sporting clays available. He hunts several thousand acres. It is a top notch operation for sure, lots of high rollers and film crews frequent QCP. I think Fred told during duck season that he was pretty much booked up for this season and most of next. Sorry I couldnt find you an economical osceola, looks like public land is the most economical (frustrating) option.

I have property west of the avon park area. I am an avid turkey hunter. I would be interested in trading a turkey hunt for a turkey hunt. I have plenty of birds but you want to shoot 2 birds or just one? For one hunt up north or would it be two for two? I went 6 for 7 (I shot two osceolas and two Easters I got two friends on two additional birds) last year including hunting them on public land which can be done with no problem also. "Just need to put your time in. " I have good birds on cameras right now. Pm me and let's try to work something out. I have lodging also. Let me know if you are still looking for something. Thanks

I guide down in central Florida as well. Have properties bordering Kissimmee state park and some other surrounding areas. My prices range from $1500 to $2200 depending on lodging and food. Pm me if you would like further information. I will pick up from airport and drop off.
