Mark your calendars for the 4th annual La Mud Run 2010.


Place- Atchafalaya Basin, Morgan City, LA
Date- July 31st, 2010
Time- 9:30am
Boat Launch- Russo's Landing (HWY 70 across the road from Lake End Park)
Food- TBA, lunch will be served at 12:00



Everyone will be meeting at Russo's Landing at 9:30am Saturday morning, please try to get there a little earlier if possible.

*VERY IMPORTANT- Before you launch your boat make sure you come to the sign in station (which will be very noticeable) and sign in. You will also be required to sign a waver for the event. This is to keep us the organizers safe being we will have so many people on our private property. I'm not saying anyone would try to do something but we have to protect ourselves to be on the safe side.

Once you launch your boat please muster outside of the landing against tree line so we do not congest the landing. We are trying to kick off no later than 9:45, so be ready to roll by then.

The Wildlife & Fisheries will be on the water so make sure you follow all LA Boating laws and make sure you got all required equipment in your boat. Please make sure you are not drinking and driving.

I will have the run flagged with white flagging(I will actually do it this year lol), the flagging will be on the left side so use that as your reference point. I will be on VHF channel 72 if anyone get's in a bind or lost.

The run will take us to the main hang out place (camp) where we will be greeted with the famous SwampSnyper lunch buffet. After that there will be something special for everyone but I will wait to announce what it is at a later date


We will be hanging out at the camp Friday night so if anyone that wants to join us let me know and I can meet you if you don't know your way around. Below is a map of the general area we will be, mainly around American Lake. Looking forward to meeting new people and having a good time. More info to come as we get closer to the date!!

Camping ony, they have tons of camper hook ups and spots to pitch a tent if you wanna do that. This place is directly across the street from the landing.

This is the closest hotel and probably one of the nicest hotels in town, they got a field to park your boats too. Probably bout 2 miles from the landing. This would be the best place to stay IMO.

This is probably bout 3 or 4 miles from the landing and has lots of parking for boats.

3 or 4 miles from the landing and is fairly new, I don't think they have much room for boats but it's an option.

I'm checking calendar... It would be me + 1... I'll confirm that later... what's this no boating & drinking? In Texas we can have open beer cans littering the boat just can't be drunk & driving boat... What's the law say about that / here for someone that's never launched or been in LA waters.
