Re: My AirBoat
put a couple of old fashioned swamp coolers blowing down from the roof of the shop and crack windows and doors.... that should keep it at a slightly higher pressure on the inside... A/C works good too but dont know if you have A/C in the shop.....
Every occupied building in the plant I work at has to have constant A/C or Heat flowing in to maintain a few inches H20 high than the outside pressure....

At the first part of the clip, you can see me moving foward. it seems like water is being pushed from under the boat. NOPE !!! Defently NO water. It is Dust. LOL. I have over a 1 minute video clip with me on Dry Ground. Though, Tenpoints wife didnt get me starting on the dry ground.

i like your little boat. i always wanted to do a rotax. 582 water cooled? wanted to do an aircooled. 502? or the biggest one. a 912 would be really cool. have you seen any of the minis with a 35 briggs? wonder just how tthey run. dude in inverness fl has one on the y-tube running dthe hill with 3 guys in it.

Re: My AirBoat
brIcIa has that Briggs Engine. Watch his video above.
The Rotax defently has more Get up and Power.. But, it also has Double the HP.

Re: My AirBoat
Mine was no where near 35HP though....
That Rotax is Double the HP and 1/3 the weight..... but also 2 stroke which I can't stand.... no offense but just not a fan of two stroke motors.

Re: My AirBoat
I run a 13 x 7 deckover with a 0-540 Lycoming 3-4 days a week. Tops out about 65-70 with one person, 60 with two. I love the airboat and down here in South Florida they are the way to go, but as discussed earlier they are expensive to run and maintain. I don't go out without burning at least 20 gallons. That's why I'm building a mud motor rig. 6 gallon tank to run all day. Won't go everywhere an airboat will, but it will get me where I need to go. They are better for duck hunting also. Hard to hide an airboat. Pretty much have to put on the waders and walk away from the boat a good way.
