 3 Man Gator Trax Gator Hide with Mud Buddy HD 5000 Took the boat out today for her maiden voyage. Was VERY impressed with the new motor! I know there are some MB haters on here and I was not a fan in the past but I really like the new motor. As far as numbers go with 2 men, dog, 12 gallons of fuel and an extra battery in deep water it was a consistent 30mph. In the shallows we were runnin 31.5 mph. Saw 32 for a brief moment. It flew through the lillies without a problem. With just one person the numbers were identical. I was really impressed with the new mercury trim too. They aren't putting the dual exhaust on anymore, just the 2 into 1. It sounded great. My pops cranked up his Harley and they sounded identical. All in all I was very pleased. Still gonna keep the 16x38 GD with the 23 LT for those tight places. I can never get rid of my longtail but this sumbitch sure is comfortable and fast!
Next we have to camo the boat. That big bastard is gonna take a lot of paint!

Re: 3 Man Gator Trax Gator Hide with Mud Buddy HD 5000 My PD made it back there..............once. The water must have been 1.5 feet above normal. Tried it a second time and made it about 400 yards. But, to the PD's credit, I made it about 200 yards farther than my buddy's longtail.
