my final question. Would a 27hp prodrive do go on a 15 foot by 44 inches wide boat? The motor has manual trim and no reverse. I am running in South Louisiana in Golden Meadow. Just wondering if this would be a realible setup for me to duck hunt and do a little bit of fishing out of.

and the question you just asked? (Other than 2" of width). I am telling you, it will SUCK!!! on a 15 ft. boat. Look at the review Podcast wrote up. He had a 15 ft. with a 27 pd and it was a turd. He went to an 18 ft boat and now he's getting performance. If you put that motor on anything under 16 x44 (and thats not ideal), you will be kicking yourself.

Okay guys I really appreciate the input, and I knew that 15x44 would suck. I have the oppurinty to buy a 16x60 for for it. Will it perform like good prodrive should?

Depends on the condition of the hull, but yes it will perform better than a 14 or 15x48.

The hull is almost in perfect condition. It is a slick bottom boat to, and all it needs is a new paint job.

Buy it!! It's also big enough that if / when you decide to go to a bigger motor, you'll be able to without having to get a bigger boat.

Better watch out for them pipelines next to catfish lake..
