Post Uncle J 3/16 vs stumps
Same thing guys must have hit 20 stumps with the 3/16 hull. I have steel flex. Zero damage.

Thank you Uncle J for the 3/16 suggestion.

Not sure but it's worth every penny. Apply it the way I did. Its strong as hell and extremely slippery. It will last you several seasons.

The trick is to get the golf ball dimples.

Stumps pssshhhh. I hit a 300+lb hog last sunday that was swimming. Kinda ramped him actually it was only about 18" deep. Didnt damage bottom, quick slick , or hog. He ran out of the water looking like a charging hippo on discovery channel. I've got an 18x54 3/16" uncle J

If you run stumps, steel flex will chip and flake off. Barely got one season out of my buddies boat.

Rudy, I just go around those mean ass stumps- since you are off to a fast start the trick will be surviving a raft of coots! Are you hunting teal season?

Yes. We are neighbors for opening teal. Got the first floor.

Good deal! I will make sure Flaco behaves. My steelflex is a little faded but intact, of course, I don't abuse my bottom like some of the wild Neanderthals on this site. Vroom, vroom!

Rudy, I noticed on another thread here on an uncle J boat, some really cool looking metal seat bases that can be moved around. Because the bottom is wider than the top they look very stable. I guess all you need to add is a standard swivel seat on top. They appear open on the bottom-you can fit stuff underneath which is good. If you don't have your seating figured out, that might be the way to go. I would not mind trying one of those out. The bird bucket (Cabelas) I use are good but not as stable as I'd like.

I built my seat base at Jam Welding In south Miami. Very strong and stabile.

The trick is to get the tempress seat. It's much stronger than the Wise and other brands. you can lean back without a problem. It's so well built that you can run the boat while sitting.

I have put my uncle j boat through some serious shit. I fish a lot of the same stump fields as Owens so he understands. I even hit a pipe line doing 30 one day and the sound of those concrete sinkers running under your boat will make your pucker factor Max out. Bad part is when you know you have you back over it to get home
