Well, those weren't mottled ducks, they were all 3 mallard hens. I saw that yellow too, but it's just from the instagram pic

I am soooo glad everyone else on here is a biologist and can tell me what birds I had after i knew in the field what they were and then was reconfirmed by a biologist at the check station.

I wouldnt touch that old mans gumbo if i was starving to death. I tried it once and it had all kinds of bull crap in it Feather and duck skin. Screw that.

Mr. England makes a mean gumbo.skin adds flavor from the fat and the feathers you use to pick your teeth with afterwards....come on clickster you aint skeered of some skin and feathers, they aint gonna kill you and the gumbo tastes great....a couple weeks ago he brought in venison chilli that was off the hook.......

Sunday, i hunted around box slough with a buddy thats on that lease, he headed back to victoria after the hunt and i went to the murph for gumbo and some map scouting .....nah i was only there maybe 20 minutes and i know my spots.....I walk into most of my spots in sb and my sticker is usually in the "general vacinity" of the ponds i hunt..most people dont want to fight the salt grass to walk in anyway and those that are willing to work to walk in usually have their own spots.....

shot this banded mottled this morning at broussard ranch, we shot 3 but lost 1 in the switch cane...tons of migrating birds traveling through the area, saw a couple huge flocks (20+)of pintails that were on missions and wouldnt even slow down to look at the spread...lots of big ducks, didnt see any teal and also had way more scaulp than we have ever seen before. Saw only a few spoonies on the way back to the airboat launch.
