Re: New Rig by dfou & Calen
First off my hat off to Dfou, amazing craftsmanship totally something you would see from a hung production factory I feel. Second AR I hate to say it but I think you built the boat I have been searching for minus the seat bases and I need catwalks, a gun box and a winch receiver LOL, you wouldn't mind a copy of it being shipped to Canada would you.
Thank you for sharing your thread and the build it truly is a great looking rig I can not wait to hear how it runs, sorry but I will have a lot of questions in the next few months.
Thanks again Phil

Re: New Rig by dfou & Calen
We put the tabs on to put stuff like spud poles, fishing poles, or whatever I can put behind them. Wasn't sure if I wanted the rubber holders or not. I was afraid I'd rip 'em off. Might put them on later. The tabs also add some strength. I am sure there will be a bungee cord hooked to them for something and who knows what else.
Also the cross braces in the floor were recessed.

I love the console area, storage/glove box, cup holder, removable grab bar, electric switch panel, 12v rec., and the side storage tray down the side. It will also have a fuel gauge.

Re: New Rig by dfou & Calen
When trying to figure out what I wanted I reached out to some guys in Arkansas that had a GTR. Bigrich and BayouBuster both offered suggestions and told me to come drive their rigs. I met up with Chris (Bigrich) and he showed me the boat RJ built him and I fell in love with it and the motor. Subsequently a lot of ideas were taken from that boat with a few from others I've seen or been in. So thanks RJ and Chris! I tried to give Chris some cash for gas and lettin me run his rig and he just wouldn't have it. There are some very good people on here. I got quotes from RJ, Daniel, Cory, Uncle J, Gator Tail, and Gator Trax. All of them build a nice boat and I liked each of them and their work. The custom route is the way to go no doubt. I simply can't say enough good things about those that put this all together.

Re: New Rig by dfou & Calen
Looking bad ass. Dfou builds a solid boat we tested one of his 17/54's last weekend with a dual rig prodrive sitting across it. Dfou's custom boat took the impact and floated the weight with no damage to the boat.

Really nice boat, good job Daniel. One question from the front of the gunnel cap to the point how long did you go with it?

Re: New Rig by dfou & Calen
sweet rig, built like a tank!!!! any reason cross braces in v were not welded to sides of boat. I figured with the abuse that the bow takes it would be stronger. Mine is done the same way, not with the hybrid bow. Ive never asked pete, but it just reminded me looking at your pics......

Re: New Rig by dfou & Calen
It has 3" catwalks and there is a winch. With the cap rail there is about a 5" total flat space. The winch will mount in the spud receivers-front, rear, and each side. The sides are not for moving the boat but are there and reenforced for when I've got a net hung up lol. We are going to have a storage mount for the winch under the front either in the regular compartment or under the extended deck. There are other little things like a dog stand that will mount in the spud receiver as well for any deep water situations. The front hatch was made big enough that guns can easily go in there as well. Daniel said he's a shade over 6' tall and two hundred and plenty lbs and he was able to get inside the front compartment. Everybody said don't get boxes unless you just have too and then make the removable. With storage under the front deck, extended deck, and rear hunt deck I couldn't see having a box but that is a personal deal. If you want a box get one but I'd make it removable.
Well looks like you got me there pretty much sums it up then LOL can't see much more of anything I would want or add other than a blind but I am pretty sure you will be getting one of those. Can't wait to see the final product rigged up and in action. This thread has bene a great help.
Thanks Phil

Take some extra gas with you the first time so you can find out how far past E you can keep driving. It'd suck to learn the hard way that it won't pull fuel after 1/4 tank... Sent from my iPhone using
