The first & last of the series, round chines & tapered transom. This boat flat out hauls AZZ!!! I had it doin 80 mph by my speedo on the way back to SETX with it. Still gettin everything buttoned up & tryin to decide on what to do with a few things, so until I get it figured out, I can't really post any performance reviews. I will asap tho. In the meantime, here's a few pics.

Put my old HD 4000 on it today. Ready to get some paint on it & get er finished. Jason told me I was a PITA because of my ideas on this one. Swore he'd never build another like it, not sure if that's a good or bad thing tho. :? The weather's been chitty here for the last few days, but I'll try to get a few more pics tomorrow if I can.

Not only did CAMO have every IDEA in the book, but we only had 2 days to complete the boat, and we had 20mph winds the first day (not the best conditions to weld in)

though, we worked together and got it done.

Nope, we was all business. I got up @ 3 A.M. on Tuesday & drove in. Got there about 7:30 & we got started on it. Worked till about 5 P.M. I hit the hotel & grabbed a shower, then we got some food, followed by a night @ the pool hall by his house. Got back on it about 8 A.M. & was on the road headed back home by 4 P.M. Needless to say, my old ass was draggin by the time I got home.

I wanted round chines & a performance crimp, so.....
IMG958086.jpg

I wanted a solid pipe front with spud pole socket / winch mount, so....
100MEDIA_IMAG0485.jpg

I wanted a tapered hunt deck / sport deck with a tapered transom, so....

Long rake...
100MEDIA_IMAG0484.jpg

Open floor layout with dry storage AND open storage in bow.
Still have another dry box to build, but haven't decided how & where I want it.
Will post up some more pics when I get it painted.

Well I guess my idea of a boat with round chines & transom went out the window. I want a boat without any hard edges for runnin stumps.

I really like that design. I like the high rake and the narrow bow. Kinda looks like an airboat hull. Cant wait to hear some real speeds and see it wit some paint.

Only like 500 more than a regular square chine.

 Damn, J, I was tryin to make ya some $$$

Guys, that right there should tell ya what kind of person he is, even with all the extra labor involved in that transom, he's only charging the extra that the bender charged him. That type of customer care, combined with the quality of workmanship iswhy I said he'll be in the runnin for most boats sold by the end of the year. ;)

Post subject:  Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition

 I still haven't finished puttin it all together yet, but I couldn't take it anymore. I hooked up the battery & gas tank & took it for a quick spin today. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! This boat is flippin awesome in the water!! It launches outta the hole, hauls azz, & will stand on it's side & do a 180 before ya know it. I honestly think it turns better than my old round chine gd. I tried to gps it with my phone, but couldn't get the damned speedo feature to work. Needless to say, I'm pumped up about this rig FO SHO!!!! J was probry laughin @ me b/c I was so excited when I ran it, I had to call & tell him how good it did before I even got back to the truck to pull it outta the water. :D :D :D

Guys, if ya in the market for a boat, give him a chance to build ya a boat you'll be proud of. Ya WON'T be sorry!!!!

You sounded like a 16yr old after getting his first piece of azz. And it was as if I set you up with her... LOL

Glad you like it. I guess now, I will have to give them round chines a chance..

Again.. Glad you happy..

Uncle J
