I have a question that i hope someone can answer. Underneath the prop is a fin that is bent slightly to the side. What is that for? It has moved all the way over and i have seen a decrease in speed . any help is appreciated. |

The bend in the verticle fin below the prop is to offset prop torque..... Really doubt that bend has changed any though - more likely you are getting some prop wear from that neked mud runnin' ! ! ! On a new 3 blade GDSD prop the blades measure 3 1/2" across in the widest or fatest part of the blade - the first little bit of wear actually makes you run faster - but when the wear gets worse and your blade gets to 3 1/4" across it begins to loose speed and performance and at 3 1/8" you will be over reving and bumping the rev-limiter all the time.... When they are less than 3 1/4" - you need a new prop... |

that needs to have a bend in it. the pd has a wedge welded to the skeg for the same reason |
