Post New Aucoin Custom Fabrication Console Design
Well, I dropped the boat off to Ricky Aucoin in wanting to have a center console built. Not thinking much about it, I told him I needed a console put in this spot and need about so much room on each side. I new that Rick would put his mind to it and do something special, but that dude went way beyond that point. I think I am gonna have to keep a cover on it so I can get through the gas station without getting beat up with questions.

Pictures don't do it any justice. The welds look like they came from a mold.

You should have seen all the locals at the boat launch, I thought I was gonna have to pressure wash the gizz out that sucker from them dudes drooling over it so bad. Its definatly a one of a kind! Got to say that I don't think I will ever go back to a tiller with my gator tail. FOR ME, hydraulic steering is the way to go. No torque, I can sit back and let the wheel go and the boat stays going streight, did slow me down a bit, but I think it needs a little tweaking cause of the weight distribution. Really hurt my feelings when that prodrive left me in its dust. Oh well, time to dig in the motor a little more.

Very nice. I really like how he put a radius into the side, along with the crimp.

Blaze, that guys number I gave you in Florida will give you a great deal if you call him. He is a great guy to deal with and stands behind his sale.

Have fun rigging, I got over 40 hours into mine and still have to hook up lights a bilge and clean up a few things. Thats not including the work that Rick did.

Also got to thank Kyle, Hoyt and Mike at gator-tail, without them I would still be outside trying to bleed that damn system.

Looks great!

What kind of speeds do you get with that rig? I am curious because I also have a 18x48 Aucoin bateau with a GTR 35. I have an EVT exhaust on it now, but thinking about the carb kit. Do you have any head work done or just the exhaust and carb kit?

Thanks for the help.

I bought it from http://www.foreandaftmarine.com/ ask for John and tell him your looking for the hydro ram for a gator tail. If your gonna do it yourself this is the place to go. I do suggest buying the rest of the kit from Kyle, its about 550, but its well worth its weight. When you start hooking everything up it will save time and headache, plus it supports the company that originally researched the idea and came up with the right parts to do the job.

The Gator Tail Kit comes with the block, tie rod, stainless tube, new swithches, key switch, master cylinder, kill switch, cover, and the CORRECT color coded wiring harness to go with it. The wiring alone saved me hours of valuable time and energy. I believe there are a few other things that come with it, just can't remember right now.
