Hope I don't get ate up for this but bt has a nice lookn hull. The lay out seems pretty good for huntn. Don't seem to popular though. Anyone rolln dirty in one. What's the good bad n ugly other than made north of the mason Dixie

they are too expensive!!! $12000 for boat & trailer only! And its not even a custom boat. Our friend has one, got if before the prices got jacked up. He likes it and I've hunted out of it and its nice, but at some point it comes down to cost!!! |

i may be wrong but i THINK their hulls have very little rake, i dont like that. i also rmember lookin at the florr of one at cabelas and seein it was not removable, id like a riveted floor to remove insulation and do maintenance every couple years. |

If I remember right the bracing is not right for a MM. You want long. bracing not cross bracing...... that and they are .100 gauge alum.... Not my first choice for a MM, infact it wouldn't even be on the list....... |

I have their 24 hp longtail. They are manufactured up here in MN so they are easier to come buy than some of the Southern manufacturers. The longtails are easy though, what is there to mess with really, it has a Honda engine so there aren't too many mods for it. The frame is pretty standard but it does swing into the boat for trailering. I don't know ANYBODY who has ever even ridden in a boat with a BT surface drive. |

my buddys got the 27 kohler longtail..... Mine is the same opinion.... "wtf is there to screw up" but again I'm in wi and these are easy to come by, still have yet to see one of their surface drives run or anyone who was a big fan of their boats |

i had a 13 lt in about 1998. i looked at all the brands and liked it the best. had it on a 14x36 griz. it ran pretty good as i remember. the reason i mention any of this is i agree with cut down. the motor was well made. it seemed nicer looking the a gd and mb was not being received very well. lots of talk about the bearing drive. the talk about gd was the lack of bearing and grease everywhere. the bt was getting good reviews. as for the boats they look like the belong up north and are suited for the area. ive never seen a btsd in person but i would say they are probally a good motor. that being said i think that thay may be suited for the areas they are made in. |

i was on the gander mtn. web site i guess their a beavertail dealer and the beavertail sd didnt have very good reviews but never saw one out on the water |

I just bought a 2006 17x48 beavertali hull with an extended front deck being pushed by a 31hp gatortail and i love it the gun boxes arent very wide but you can fit four guys guns and some jackets or other small stuff in them all of our blind bags seem to be a little to big to fit though I havent gps'd the speeds but doesn't seem like im going much slower than most 35hp rigs i have riden in it gets 2 thumbs up from me |

I've got one of their boats. I wanted an open floor plan with movable seating options. The other boat options locally offered were Lowe, tracker, war eagle. The beavertail offered the best layout out of those options. We can haul 2 dozen goose floaters, 3 dozen ducks, 4 hunters and gear. All of the guys hunt with, would rather hunt in my boat then the other options that are available here. One guy owns a war eagle, one owns an old fisher and one ownsva Lowe. I know half of the members would say that they are ugly, and the other half will say that they'd never own one. That's fine, you don't have to look at them or buy one. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the op was asking the people who have used a BT boat. |

I had one. Loved the layout. Great boat to hunt out of. Mine did not hold up. Had seat bases in the floor, welds cracked around all of them. They do have longitudinal bracing - i.e. front to back. I know because the ribs broke on mine at about the middle of the boat. I sold it way cheap to a guy who hunts ducks and can weld aluminum, then bought a new excel. If you like the layout the excel F86 is close. |

I love the layout of the BT boats. For the way I hunt and the stuff they can haul, it's perfect. However, there is no way I'd pay $12k for one of their boats. They don't seem like they are built tough, but the layout is nice. |
