I blew the 25 johnson this last weekend, been wanting a mud motor and now i think i might be able to get one. i have a 86 lowes 16' with wooden transom (the wood needs replaced) so what can i put on here to get three men, a dog and gear back into the shallows? Long tail or short tail, HP, and how do i determin if i need a short shaft or not? many thanks, Dale.

posted in wrong area but , only you can choose whats best for you some like longtails and some like surface drives alot goes in to your choice how much to spend? new or used? distance you travel?
