I had a 1548 with a 25 Yamaha that was not used anywhere close to how these mud boats are used and alot of the welds broke and the aluminum split at the winch strap point. IMO they are CRAP and I will never waste money on one again.

weldbilt sucks...if you insist on a prefab 80 gauge boat, go southfork....

I actually just bought a 14x42 weldbilt boat with a 23 hp mudbuddy hd lite with trailer and also came with a marine battery for 3200. I'm thinking about selling the boat now for a sothfork or another boat around the size of 15x38

Bought my Weldbilt boat used...without asking the guy he told me that it was the .100 gauge hull. All I know is I have hit several logs and when I got my 35sd on it last month and slammed an 18inch diameter stump above water surface hidden in the weeds and it didn't do any damage! May have just gotten lucky...I'm just hoping mine is the .80 g hull.
With that said I would not knowingly purchase a Weldbilt with the .80 guage hull to put a mm on!

Had a 1642 Tunnel with 40HP Tohatsu... I had great luck with it. Team Camo and Take'em can tell stories of the hell I put it thru... But after getting a Instagator with the MB... I dont think i can own another outboard... I did put that outboard places it really shouldnt have been. Lord how I miss my speed of that outboard though.

Sharp looking rig to me! I wish my Weldbilt had split rear seats and front deck like that.
