I have finally been able to run this in all the conditions that I typically hunt and fish in. Although I have to "feather" the throttle to get rolling, I don't have trouble getting planed out in deep or shallow water, with a full hunting load distributed correctly. I am getting 26-28 mph with 3 guys, and full hunting load in relatively shallow water, running at 3600 rpm. I can cut back to 3200 rpm and still keep it above 20. I am not trying to win races, so this is really what I am looking for. The low rpms should help extend engine life.

I have no trouble in the mud, even though it's not a slick hull. I know there would be an advantage to a true flat hull, but the rig does what I need to do.

I may eventually upgrade to a mikuni carb with an accelerator pump to get better throttle response and hole shot, but for this season she's in the water, and getting me where the ducks are. If anybody out there is thinking about putting a generac motor on a prodrive, I learned a lot in the process of getting this up and running, and got some good help from guys on this site. The guys at Prodrive were great in checking things out and getting my wheel balanced, hats off to them.

Slight engine mods done by Mike at ML Small Engine, high comp pistons and high lift cam, along with a larger venturi carb than the stock carb from generac. Engine has a lot of torque, and will spin my wheel at 3600 rpm no matter what load is on it.

That sounds right. I had 3 guys, gear and 2 dogs yesterday running a steady 28 and change. The rpms never drop with a load either. After season I may try something else with the prop. I really like the motor,it's not fast but it's solid and performs well.

The engine is a 33, but with mods probably hits 40. Torque is 68 ft lbs., though, which keeps the rpm's up under load.
