Just sold my rig this morning(17' gtx w/35gtr)And as of yet i haven't made up my mind of what im goin to get to replace it. well i'd figure ill ask the experts. I need a boat that will get up on plane in shallow water with a hard bottom. would like to stay with a slick btm boat, for speed reasons, but im up for any suggustions.

only access is by boat, no airboats, and got to cross a pretty serious mud flat that would put the option of putting one in a boat out.. most guys round running .80 gauge 1750 alwelds. they walking the dog on gt, gatortrax, and excel boats.. but if you would ever hit something it could be bad.

was that your boat sitting on the side of 28 east about a week or so ago for sale

if you are running a shallow hard bottom, look at getting a large HP longtail
we have built a couple of smaller HP longtails and they will get on plane in say 8 inches
of water, a lot shallower than my GTR and a friends prodrive

Get an 18' boat, somewhere between 48-54" bottom. Have a custom builder build it lightweight with short sides and nothing you don't need. Then whatever motor you buy, grind the skeg way down. You can get on top in 6" of water if you don't care about your prop.

That's probably about as close as your gonna come. Hard bottom sucks. I know cause we got plenty of 'em.
