i have a 1648 fisher marine semi V riveted boat. i had a 50hp mercury which did really good and plenty of power and got me where i wanted to go in a hurry until i busted the lower unit on it last duck season so im lookin for a better tougher motor... i was thinking about puttin a 36hp prodrive on it.. any suggestions? |

Might want to look into bracing up transom . If you hit alot of stuff with it. |

I wouldn't do it. The boats riveted so it wouldnt take long for it to start leaking because of what these motors can do. |

yea i know what u mean.. but im gona buy the motor this year and only use the boat one more yea then im gona get a new boat.. just for money purposes... |

Altho it would still be way more capable than the outboard, it's not going to perform as Jt should with that hull. Especially seeing that it's riveted, a pro drive would beat that hull to death. I think you'd be most satisfied with a boat made for a mud motor. Talk to some of the builders on here and sell that boat. Trust me I doubt you look back. There's alot of guys on here who could build you a nice hull for a real good price that would do everything you want and more, and that could handle and hold up to the abuse. |

It'll work till you can do better, if it's not a tall transom I would build it up. If you use it much it will be a trashed piece of shit when it's over though. |
