Post subject:  Whiteline Boat out of Delhi, LA

Sorry, I was mistaken, the boat I am looking for information on is a Whiteline boat NOT a Scandy Whate. Apparently the owner of Whiteline is the father of the owner of Scandy White and opened a shop in Delhi, LA and has since gone out of business.

The boat is represented as a "Whiteline-Scandy White" boat. The model number is 1882 TBJ. I spoke with the owner of Scandy White who said positive things about his fathers skills, but had no real inforamtion.

I ran her today in the Susquehanna River, she ran mid 30's (guestimation, no GPS) with 3 big guys. We were in deep water so did not really get to run her in the shallows to see how much/little it drafts.

Boat can be viewed at

Figuring a 2010 Suzuki 140 valued at 14K (2 years left on warranty) and the trailer at $1000 I am getting the hull for 4K which I feel is a steal, BUT there is no warranty or manufacturer backing. Being as there are no moving parts I don't think I can go wrong but .......

I am probably being a wuss, but I hate buying something with little to no information......any thoughts?

Waste

I'm like you on the hull, I ain't got any information and it's hard to tell if it will perform. But for a little more than 4k, you can have a hull made that you know will perform for your application.

What are you planning to do with it? Keep it as an outboard rig, or go mudmotor on it?

I fish the Susquehanna 80%, which is a shallow rocky river, the rest I am fishing saltwater (back bays in NJ). I intend on running it with the Jet, for the price I think I am OK, just a little uneasy spending close to 20K on something without a history.....That said the motor is where the $$ is and that is a beast....

We are getting new 140 suzuki's for 12000 rigged so 14000 for a used engine that is 2 years old is a little high.

Scanty white was Whiteline back in the 80's, where these boats are were built in north Florida. Everyone has one. I have never heard or seen anything negative with these boats. Good luck man.
