17/51 excel shallow water with 40 kohler mud buddy

 17/51 excel shallow water with 40 kohler mud buddy bought the boat on monday and finally got to take it out today.
deep water speeds: two men (220)(180) two batteries two dozen dekes and safety equipment 27.2mph
shallow water 6'' and less 29.5 mph
this is my first mud motor and boat combo and i have to say ill never go back to an outboard. its really fun to go zipping up creeks at that speed. really suprised the hell out of me.

Re: 17/51 excel shallow water with 40 kohler mud buddy Can I ask you a question? I just bought a 17 foot excel with a 35 super mudd Buddy on it. I've never had one before, got any advise? Seems like when I have 2 or 3 people in the boat it really bogs down and runs slow, but I see people with same motor on youtube with 3 people in a boat pushing though mudd at 20 MPH. Am I not driving it right?
