Rehash: got 20 bumpin 21 just me @ 3400 rpm. Played with carb linkage and got 20 bumpin 21 with my ol man and me @ 3510 rpm. Didn't know if it was the linkage adjustment or the boat ridin more level. New update: went out today after setting the throttle linkage to engage immediately when you twist the throttle. Before it would engage after about 1/3 throttle. After I did that I checked to see when the carb plate fully opened. It was 100% open at half throttle. So I think should give me max rpm at half throttle. Start it up in the parking lot. Sure nough, 4250 at half throttle twist. So I take er out. I'm hitting 22 bumpin 23 at 3650. Now here's the really funny deal. That was at full twist. The carb fully opens at half twist. So I thought after a couple minutes let of to half throttle since it should run the same. Well immediately after lettin off it lost rpm. So between 100% down to 50% throttle I was loosing rpm. But the plate is fully open at 50% rpm. What gives y'all? |

I think you kinda misunderstood what Woodie was sayin. The motor aint gonna turn up the same rpm under a load that it will in neutral. Think about it like your truck. With just you & a 12 pk of beer, it'll peg out the speedo, but put a load back there like a big tractor or something heavy, & you can give it all the throttle you want. If the horsepower aint there, the rpm's won't be either. |

Understood TC. Maybe I did a chit job a explainin it. Ta break er down simple, none a the linkage was adjusted right all between the throttle rod and the carb. |
