This weekend I got to run my boat and motor for About 8 hours, it preformed flawlessly - I ran some shallows, grass beds and A lot of open water - I didn't have much of a load just me and my dog_ she's Probably 40 lbs soak in wet, but I did put 5 gallons of gas in my tank For a little more weight upfront- I down loaded an app from iTunes called "speed box" And constantly checked it along with my vehicles mph on the way to the ramp. It was right on the money - the whole way. The copper head 18 (kohler) busted off every time With no hesitation- I love this motor! The way it's setup is awesome - its a very Simple design with killer performance! After playing around and figuring Out the trim I was moving! Every thing from the throttle To the prop worked great- no regrets on the motor! None. Copper head did a heck Of a job on this thing. I manged to hit 25mph - when I could find smooth water not chopped up From the wind- the phowler 1540 lite Jon and the copperhead are a great combo. If your looking For a smaller rig - contact phowler or copperhead - the customer support is top notch Outstanding people to do business with. I did manage to get it stuck trying to go over a levee - Good thing my phowler is relatively light- boat is built like a tank. |

It will handle a total weight = to 3 men (600lbs) well, just as with the 1840 tested last weekend, when you try and put 4 or more (800lbs or so) in a good boat with the 18, it will slow down to 12-16 mph or so depending on conditions. PW |
