Being as you have both I bet your gonna tell us. And I'm gonna say 2 motors working less would be better than one motor working twice as hard. |

Well a stock GTR on an 1860 running a total of 45 miles one day I burned only 5 ga of gas. (9 MPG) |

We ran 50 miles in the dual burnt 6 in each motor!! The single ran a think a few less and burnt 9 !! Dual had more weight in it also !! I fine even with 2 motors and heavy loads it's a lot cheaper than my other boat!! |

so, you burnt 2 or 3 gallons more than him... At that rate, you will have it paid for itself in no time! ![]() |

At least 7 guys? At least 10 feet of water? Mods? All these questions need to be answered before we can make a valid comparison. |

^^ that and the dual rig still burnt more gas than the single. Per motor the dual is more efficient but rig ta rig the dual burnt 9 compared ta the single burnt 6. |

Think y'all are still getting it wrong... and assuming Terry ran 50 miles in each rig regardless of weight, water depth, throttle %, total weight difference etc. Terry said: His dual rig burned 6 GA in each motor for a total burn of 12 GA @ 50 miles (4.16 MPG) The modded motor burned 9 GA w/ a single GTR on the back @ 50 miles (5.55 MPG) |

No matter what take the dual and split the motors up each motor burned less than the single!! Shit what I'm saying is the duals worked less than the single!! I don't care which is cheaper to run Just comparing mods v's duals !! |

No brain surgery here. Duals won't work as hard as a single, trips won't work as hard as duals. The cost of rigging/initial cost/maintenance of duals tends to be cost prohibitive for someone that doesn't work out of their boats. U will be replacing your dual engines before I replace my modded single. |

You are on the right track coe, on bigger boats w/ bigger loads the duals will operate under less strain than a single. For this reason they should outlast the single pushing similar loads, mods or not. |

Before I even put any body or any thing in my boat a one motor will not get my boat on step!! So when I say my boat is big and heavy I mean it !! |
