Im thinking of selling my 2011 mb 45 with 10hrs to get a stock 36 with auto reverse. Talked to KP bout fitting it to my 1750 GT huntdeck and he said it would be no problem. I could sell and buy the PD at about even cost, problem is i lose all my mods. I talked to Gator-tail and they said i could sell my motor and he could get me into a stage 1 (old school term for the newbies) for about the same price as well. Leaning on the PD but yall know how this shit is . Some thoughts from fellow addicts please.

Get the pd and once the warranty is up do heads and exhaust. It's all you need.

I stay on the rev limited with heads. Boat runs great.

It's not as fast as a mb or Gtr because of the gearing but it can chew some thick shit up without bogging down and reverse you out of almost any situation

Well Im bout like you, not really worried bout a few mph, Mainly low end. Felsenthal where I hunt has alot of flats with logs/stumps you gotta get up and over at low speeds with no momentum it can get pretty interesting. Push pole comes in play at this point. I asked Gatortail if they sold their outdrives like MB does but they do not, so... Its obvious auto rev is it, but is 1500 worth it over the 475 manual rev at the end of the day. I get mixed answers from my buddies with PD's but none have the auto.

Get the auto

Auto is nice but less I had a console I wouldn't pay fer it. I can put mine in reverse just as quick as auto with the pin puller.

I've ran mine with the pin puller, and ran boats with auto. If the money ain't a big deal, it's a no brainer.

Whats the deal with guys bending reverse cylinders and such, are they not trimming up first or what. Not really worried but... its just something to ask about

I have the auto reverse, it's worth it. Just push a button

If all you want is reverse techincally you have 2 other options to consider:

1) buy a 35 gator tail, swap the 2 briggs motors, and sell the MB frame with the 35 hp motor...........which in all honesty is probably the cheapest alternative mentioned.


or 2) wait 6 months to see how the new Mudbuddy frame with reverse is doing and get one of those............However, you waited that long you wouldnt have it for this season.

Keep the MBSD so I can pass you in the stump fields to the hole.

I run those places on step all the time dude, if it is open enough to get on plane and you dont hit anything above the water you'll be fine.
