We took our new Canadian Big Water Series 2272 out for test runs last week.

Here are the specs:

2272 Phowler Hull, fully welded custom upper cockpit blinds, full shelves, decoy storage in front, splashwell in rear, side boarding pans, LED lights, granite camo paint. Fully interchangeable blind panels, heaters and running lights.

Motors: Stock Double LL 36 Prodrive duals.

Conditions: High water and heavy current in channel, wind 8-10 mph. Backwaters 1-3' of water in grass and timber, calm.

Speeds: One person open water and backwaters 30-32 mph average. Three people 27-29 mph. Boat on step in 20-30 feet. Handles like a dream, corners easy and double LL motors could be steered with little to no effort. I have run alot of double LL on smaller boats, this one was the easiest I have run.

Loaded speeds: Six people total weight of 1290 lbs - average speed 26.5 mph. Seven people total weight of 1510 lbs 25.2 mph. Eight people total weight of 1685 lbs - 24.1 mph.

Fully loaded draft with folks balanced out front to rear was 8", with only four adults it was 4".

The on water pictures of boat sitting is with four people in the boat ducked down on the side towards camera, so it looks like it is drafting more water. Sort video is also posted to show how she runs with a load.

This boat is going to Canada in a few weeks, they will run both inland lakes and rivers and take to to the east coast to run the open ocean bays.
