 How do F&F boats perform with surface drives?

Post How do F&F boats perform with surface drives?
I'm looking to buy a F&F 16x52 tall transom cut down to a short transom, and i would put a 27 MB SD on it. I've heard they are tough boats, but I've never seen a mud motor on one. I was just wanting some input on the boat.

I have a 1752 f&f. Great boat. Mine is for sale. Buying a 35gtr. My buddy has the same boat but short transom. he had a 27 pd. It sucked. it was slow and wouldnt get on step unless empty with just one person. He sold the 27 and got a 36 pd. Night and days difference. Now it will step 3 that i know of with a load.
