Well I couldn't take it anymore. I sold my last Pro-Drive in 2007 and haven't had a mudmotor since. Boy a lot has changed since I had one. I've been following this site for awhile and have learned a lot. I will admit I'm not too mechanically inclined with these things with all the mods now. I will definitely let one of the guys mentioned on this site handle it.

I won't waste too much time talking about speeds or if I liked it. The boat is kick ass and hauls ass for stock so I pretty much think that's enough said. Mods won't be too far away but I wanna learn the damn thing stock first.

I do have one question though, I have the idle rpms set correctly (1100ish). The boat is running upper 20s all day long at 3800ish lol. My only question is this, every time I engage the clutch whether it be forward or reverse, it wants to die unless I give it some gas. What could be the cause of this if when it's in neutral everything's set correctly. Try to remember, i'm not the most proficient at these things so dummy me down a bit.

its not uncommon for the motor to die every once in a while if prop is under load/in thick mud when you engauge the motor into gear. Idk if its comparable to the 35 but my 23 is around 1200ish rpm range on the idle and sometimes i have to get the rpms up to engauge the clutch while in the mud. May just need to increase the idle just a bit to solve your problem.

Thanks for the help. Before I bought the boat and motor I could've swore I read while searching that the idle should be set from 1100-1200. 1450 sounds like I lot. I did notice when I bumped it up from 950 to 1100 it still goes down to around 850 then picks back up if it doesn't die. Almost like its starving for fuel?!?!

If it were starving for fuel it would run like shit no matter what the rpm's are. I doubt that's the problem..

set your Idle to 1450 out of water.

Its just bogging down in the water/mud without enough momentum to keep it running, perfectly normal.

I'll set it for 1450 this afternoon and go run it. I'd post pics but I don't have the first clue of how to do that.

I had this problem when I bought mine. I adjusted the carb and have my idle set at about 1000 out of water. Does fine for me.

Talked to Hoyt today and he said set the rpms at 1350. Talked to a few other members via phone and they all said 1200-1250. Either way, it's doing the same thing. How do you adjust the carb and what are you adjusting?

Well after a brief discussion on the phone with Camo he got me fixed up. Motor is idling around 1250 rpms, gov controls around 4220. When I engage the clutch, no more dying. Just some fine tuning is all it was. Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be better and i'll go hit the marsh and run it. Maybe try to catch a few reds while i'm at it. Big thanks to Rob and Chuck for the help.

Glad you got it squared away. Hopefully when I get my new rig in we'll have some time for a ride before season opens.

From what I hear, It's G-14 "Classified" top secret

Med, the idle and gov screw were way out of whack. Not to mention you had to squeeze the throttle handle about an 1.5" before it would bite. Nothing serious, just cosmetic stuff the dealer didn't do before I picked it up. Rob walked me through after about a 2 min conversation on the phone.
