 Review on Calen's modded GTR
I've had this motor for about a year before I had Calen do these mods for me a few weeks ago. Waited until after this weekend to see how it handled a hunt load... and man did it preform!!
Saturday (opening of Teal) had some buddies in another boat break down before they got to their spot. So I had them hop in my boat with me and my dad. Ended up with 5 guys (Approx 1100-1200 lbs) and 2 labs (160lbs) in boat. Boat still got on a plane and ran a consistent 25-26mph.
2011 GTR w/ Reverse Plate Calen's Heads, MM-X (no baffles), Carb, and Cam 2010 Uncle J 1854 w/ Drivers Box and gun box. Slightly worn prop
Breakdown: Light load (3 people and a cooler of beer) 32mph bumping 33mph in shallow water @ 4250 rpms
Heavy Heavy Heavy Load (5 people, 2 dogs, and all the gear for teal hunt) 25-26mph @ 3900 rpms
This motor is awesome, don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a stock motor. Calen did a bang up job, and was very fast in turn around time. It was also nice to be able to run the boat at his shop as he has a canal with launch on the backside of his property.
