i just bought my first boat it is a lowe roughneck 1760 17ft. it has a 2010 50hp etec on it right now. I got the boat for duck hunting and fishing i want to get a mudmotor for it so we can get to all the spots you normally cant get to. I live in Indiana and hunt there and ohio and michigan what size and type should i look for? short shaft, longtail etc... just looking for some advice thanks

well first of off dont get a long tail with that big of a boat. second do you need reverse? third how much money do you have to spend?

reverse would be very nice but not a nessesity imho i got manual reverse (pushpole) but really dont need it often i just turn around. Not saying i didnt wish I had it but i get by just fine. at that price your gonna be looking at used, find a 35 for that size boat. GTR or pro drive have reverse, Clutch and power trim are a must though i would be more concerned about that over reverse

Well I got a 1760 too but mines alil heavyer and I got mb 45 and run 28 empty so u should be alright with a 35. Look at used gatortails cuz u ant gong to get a new mm for 5000 with rev.
