Just discovered the price and wow what a deal! But is there a reason why this is so much cheaper than the other "big 3" (GTR, PD, and MB). This motor is just a couple hundred more than the backH20 35ss I had recently settled with buying in a couple months . A little leary though.... A very reliable name backH20 SWOMP 35 SS or a cheaper priced Dixie 35 surface drive. Don't want to buy a headache that's always givin me problems. I don't know anything about the Dixie so please fill me in

There is nothing cheap about them. Full aluminum frames, the best belts, best bearings they are built very well. The reason there cheaper is way less overhead than the big three. There is only 6 people in Bens shop and the price reflects it.

Sure do appreciate the info I see you have one nice to hear from someone with some experience. Didn't mean to make it sound like I was bashing them I was just curious about the price difference. I am set on it can't wait till January! it has dixie cut into the lower unit that says enough. ROLL TIDE

I had a Dixie 13 hp Honda. Upgraded to a Dixie 23 Vanguard. I got the new aluminum frame.

I absolutely love my Dixie. Best cost /hp ratio. Ben uses the best components and they are very easy to work on.

Best of luck.

if you do ever have a issue Ben and the guys will work it out and make it right! Try getting that outta of anyone else, youll just be sittin there poundin sand. I got a buddy who bought a MB and they told him if he wanted to upgrade just bring it in and they'll do the mods on it @ cost since he bought a new demo. He brought it in after a season and the demo he bought cant even be modified, this was back when MB was experimenting with Kawasaki motors. you would think if your selling something you should know your product inside and out.

Who the fuck are you and do you ever have anything to talk about other than the fact that you really like the way ben's balls taste? Talk a lot of shit about nasty bashing but you really aren't much different.

How many hours you got on your motor?

Dixie hasn't been around long enough to prove their cs or their products are up to par. Just in the short time they've been around they have had issues with both.

Telling everyone that the dealer network for mb is pretty shitty and that mb has shitty cs isn't really news to anybody here...they have a couple good ones that really take care of customers, but good luck with the rest of them or dealing with mb direct.

WTF is up with the trim cylinder on a 35 Dixie? That SOB is huge. I hope all of the trim mechanism is built into that. They could have done a bit more work on the mechanics/kinematics of the trim design to reduce that size of that thing. Not saying anything bad about the company, but I always question when a surface drive manufacturer that showcases their new motor on a ribbed bottom boat...

Just my observations for the day.

On the trim there is only 2 wires that have to be hooked to the Battery. There is a gang of wires that come out of the unit but they run into the silinoids. Only a postive and ground come out of that. Other than that you just need your positive and negitive battery cables and your in business. Yours may be different but that is how a Dixie is.
