Post subject:  1860 with short shaft

im looking at getting a new boat with a short shaft-i am wanting a open boat 1860 with a short shaft that will push 3 guys plus gear on open water plus rivers, and shallow stumpy water
looking for suggestions, i hunt carlyle lake if anyone knows this area. basically ill be running flooded timber and shallow stumps

id think 60 is too wide to run timber. might wanna think about 54 or less. unless the timber is below water, then that wide of a boat may draft less. still be hard to get off a stump.

Why would you want a short shaft? Do you like the feel of the shorty over the longer one. lol

I have a 1860 Gator Tail with a GTR35 and hunt a good bit of timber and a bunch of ole back water slue and dead lakes and things and I love my rig!
