im looking at getting a new boat with a short shaft-i am wanting a open boat 1860 with a short shaft that will push 3 guys plus gear on open water plus rivers, and shallow stumpy water looking for suggestions, i hunt carlyle lake if anyone knows this area. basically ill be running flooded timber and shallow stumps thanks |

id think 60 is too wide to run timber. might wanna think about 54 or less. unless the timber is below water, then that wide of a boat may draft less. still be hard to get off a stump. |

Why would you want a short shaft? Do you like the feel of the shorty over the longer one. lol |

I have a 1860 Gator Tail with a GTR35 and hunt a good bit of timber and a bunch of ole back water slue and dead lakes and things and I love my rig! |
