I felt like I should post this to help anyone who is considering a similar setup, and because the reviews forum has gone to shit with a bunch of dumb threads. 2012 Gatortail boat extended front deck catwalks rear drop deck poling platform GT blind 2009 GTR 377 hours Hoyt mods ( cam, heads, MM exhaust ) and Mikuni carb reverse plate Today's Speeds: Deep water, light load ( me- 150 ) 5 gals gas and ice chest 31.8 consistent into current at ~ 4250, 32.5 consistent with current, bumping 33 a few times Deep water, avg. size load 3 people ( 500 ) dog ( 80 ) and ice chest, 5 gals gas: 29 consistent into current Havent been in any good shallow water to get steady speeds I'm real happy with the performance and finish of this setup. I went from a 18x48 to a 20x60 to this 18x54 and it feels like the best all around size. I had them flare the sides a little more and with the full floor the boat feels as wide as my 60" did. The boat is solid in a chop, and handles well. My favorite feature of this boat is the catwalks. The crew at Gatortail was great to deal with as always. Now that hunting season is over I'll be putting the poling platform on and mounting my trolling motor. This should be a hell of a fishing rig. |

Nice review. I'm in the process of building an almost identical rig. Mine will be same width just a bit longer. Between 19 and 20. I will have a small rear deck w/ storage and 3/16 bottom. I'll be running a brand new Gtr with same mods less carb. Hope I can get speeds close to yours. I plan to upgrade the carb when I get the money |

Very nice boat, seen one today that looks identical except the side railing went all the way to the back. THem GT rigs are some nice rigs |

Boat looks real good. Why are the 3" catwalks your favorite feature? Do they serve any real purpose? I was debating putting 4"-6" catwalks on upcoming build. But kind of decided against it since mine is a hunt only boat. |
