Hey y'all.

Im a first time poster, but long time lurker. I hope you experts in the way of the mud boat world can point me in a good direction.

Im looking at a GD duck skiff 16x36 with LT16...I have always liked the fact that they a very small and narrow...I hunt the woods and most of the time have long pirogue paddles...I was hoping this boat could get me a bit closer to the holes I hunt.

Any pros of cons would be very helpful.

Thanks.

If a pirogue can get to most likely that little boat can too. Do you push your pirogue or paddle it through the woods?

I have that rig , is it a duck skiff, if so it works good for me .
I run 16 on gps and works good in mud . Little hairy in big water, but I have a different rig for that . How much are they asking? I would buy mine again.I think for your uses you described it would work.

Take it as far as it will go. When you think it can't go any farther, give it more gas. You can get places in a rig like that that would make any big rig SD owner a bit envious.

you can make it. After a few trips of traveling the same path you'll dig yourself a little ditch which holds even more water and thus making it even easier. I started on a run four years which only was maybe 1000 yards long till i had to get out and walk, nowdays I can drive just about right up to my deer stand which is about a mile in. However I still push my pirogue the last 1/4mile, much quiter and easier to slip in and out with making too much racket.

My buddy owns one. I do recall that they no longer make them. It would be worth your time to cut the insides out and remove all the foam. My buddies foam is so water logged that when running wide open, the water line is even with, if not over, the gunnels. The little lip around the gunnel is the only thing keeping the water out. And it is VERY heavy. I love the boat though, great for tight spots. And yes, when you think you're as far as you can go, give it more gas, you'll get there.
