MM Brand: Gator tail Horsepower: 35+ Boat Brand: Garrett Pearce Boat Size: 1848 Boat Layout: Open floor with 4' front deck and hunt deck. Speeds | Shallow Water: unknown Speeds | Deep Water: 38 Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: ran by myself with 18 gallons of gas Conditions Tested In: slick calm no current. Comments: boat performs excellent in any thing I've put it threw from lilies to mud to grass and everything in between Motor has been modded to a stage 3 but even with just my stock motor this boat would perform with a load or unloaded. Biggest load I've had so far has been 120qt 90qt and 35 qt ice chest 25 gallons of gas hunting gear for 2 ppl and stuff for a weekend at te camp as the boat will jump on step and run like nothing to it. Anyone that wants a boat built that will actually perform like expected to give him a shout and hell get you something you want. |

Strange thing with all that horsepower and awesome boat your cousin will still leave you behind in all you mention with his stock ProDrive and Charles Lenard Skiff. Except open water speeds. |

Who did your mods? Is a stage 3 everything modified except the block? Are you running a stock prop? |

Post subject: | Re: 1848 garrettpearce bateau |
I got parts from Calen and put everything together myself. When you do block work is what makes a stage 3. Stock prop I wouldn't waste my time or money getting someone to try and build a prop stock works just fine. |

.020 over stock pistons is considered "block work"? I guess mine is a stage 3 too. ![]() |

My loud muffler makes mine a stage 3. Just the loudness gives it 10 hp lol |

That's how much your old motors had? |
Author: | deltaduckmaster [ Sun Feb 17, 2013 6:29 pm ] |
Post subject: | Re: 1848 garrettpearce bateau |
First one had more than that we put stock heads to get it down to 265. Garrett that's what I had on my second motor if my memory is correct around 220-235 around that |

My old engine had comp. numbers that high and I only bent push rods if I revved 5600+. |

Post subject: | Re: 1848 garrettpearce bateau |
Yea that's what I thought. I ran 93 with boost which brought it up to like 105. But still detonating pretty bad so I want to drop compression and try some other stuff |
Author: | craig [ Sun Feb 17, 2013 6:43 pm ] |
Post subject: | Re: 1848 garrettpearce bateau |
Nah... You really don't notice any difference. Don't allow it to detonate. Mine lasted 10 minutes running wide open on 93 alone. |
