Drove down to Morgan City this past Saturday, got her home late Sunday, and today was the first day I had a chance to run it. Initial concept of the build came from CJB's boat and then I went from there adding a few odds and ends. Very, very happy with the job Uncle J did on the boat. Got everything i wanted and it turned out way better than I had pictured in my head. Thanks to Team Camo for the motor and getting the mods handled for me. Everyone involved were a pleasure to work with and helped make the combo one bad machine. Ready to rock and roll Hooked up headed home finally MM Brand: Gatortail Horsepower: 35 (Calen's heads, Hoyt's cam, Mikuni, and Marshmellow exhaust) Boat Brand: Uncle J Boat Size: 18x54 Boat Layout: 22" sides 1/8 sides 3/16 bottom Pipe front Welded full floor Hunt Deck 60" Front Deck (40" sealed with hatch, 20" open) 18 Gallon Permanent Tank Spud pole holes in front deck and off hunt deck Non-alcoholic drink holder Removable grab bar Poling Platform Speeds | Shallow Water: Speeds | Deep Water: Solo 30 bumping 31, 2 people & 60lb dog 30, 3 people & dog 30. Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Conditions Tested In: Calm Comments: Was only able to take it out for a very short run right after work. Wind wasn't bad in town but on the lake it was ripping. Nice little white cap action in the open water but I couldn't wait til the weekend. Still haven't wired up my electronics so I went off an iPhone speedo and was still able to hold 30 by myself in the rough open water (hit 31 once, but may have been my hand moving forward). Even in the rough stuff Hope to post a new review this weekend with heavier loads and better conditions. |

This is a bad ass rig man, real nice! I stopped by Jason's shop the day it came back from paint and was really impressed. I like the way you did the gas tank and speaker mounts, and the hunt deck with polling platform is a nice addition. You'll really enjoy it man, I know I enjoy the hell outta mine, congrats! |

That is one bad ass boat. J’s work is awesome. I’m in line for my build. (Due next month) I live in Florida but not sure how to schedule that type of custom job. Do they pick it up at J’s shop and paint it or do you need to schedule the work upon completion and trailer it yourself. How long does it take to paint the boat? I was going to pay someone to bring my rig to Miami FL but if it looks like that I would be willing to drive and spend a few days in the area while it’s painted. Thank you. |

My 1854 uncle J boat will look similar to yours. Is the polling platform stable ? Do you increase the draft (rear) significantly as you are polling since it’s set back so far ? Is the polling platform removable ? Thank You. |

Lol. Mine don't have top speed a the old GTRs but it was faster than the one boat i saw. The boat looked really good though and probably weighed more. It had alot of features i liked. Truthfully when i wear this hull out, i will get a custom. |

Sthomp I’m building almost the same boat but had a question regarding the stability of the polling platform. Can it handle 250# while polling ? I’m thinking of adding additional members to remedy side sway. Do you think it’s an issue ? Thank you. |
