Pete just finished the boat up for me. I'll add more pics of it completely done after it gets painted and motor is mounted along with some speeds. For anyone looking for a custom builder, WC builds a great boat. Can't wait to get it on the water.

Good looking rig Tanner. Any idea how much it's gonna weigh with that 3/16th bottom?

Looks good man, where are you from?

Post subject:  Re: WC Custom 1854 huntdeck w/ MB7000

tailfisher - Pete correct me if im wrong, 17-18' up to 60" wide 3/16 bottom is 6k which includes alot of your basic stuff. It obviously goes up from there with whatever options you want to add. Give Pete a call, he'll treat you right and help point you in the right direction for what you need your rig for.

Westi - im not sure on the total weight. Once i get everything done and get it on the water ill post details about the boat, including weight, with speeds in different situations with different loads.

brasso - thanks man, im originally from the tyler area just recently moved out towards kaufman. Had to get closer to where i work in dallas. Im gonna try my best to make that caddo run at the end of may so im sure ill see a bunch of yall out there.

Still waiting on motor for this boat so I put a 25 GTR on it today just to see what it would do.

This boat has 3/16 bottom and 24" tall 1/8 sides with roughly 6' long front deck, 20" rear hunt deck, 7 longitudinal runners = pretty hefty boat.

With me (190) and battery in rear, 4 gallons if gas and 2 empty 35qt yetis the 25 pushed 23-24 mph in deep fairly choppy water.

Added my fiancé (150) and dropped to 21-22 mph.

Not too bad for little motor on a BIG boat!

Post subject:  Re: WC Custom 1854 huntdeck w/ MB7000

got it in the water yesterday afternoon. Everything is done except the paint which will probably come next week.

MM Brand: Mud Buddy 7000 Mag
Boat Brand: WC Custom 1854 HD
Boat Size: 18'x54" + 20" huntdeck (almost 20' overall length)
Boat Layout: 3/16" bottom with 7 2"x2" runners, 1/8" 24" tall sides, gun box on left side, half box in rear with seat mount for driving, 6' front deck with hatch

Speeds | Shallow Water:
Speeds | Deep Water: 30-31
Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: 2 ppl (300 lbs total), 6 gallons of gas in the front, battery in back, small cooler
Conditions Tested In: deep, choppy water with tons of bass boat traffic (bass tournament) still in break-in mode.

Comments: since im still breaking in my motor i wasnt holding it at WOT so i havent been able to really play with the trim and find that sweet spot yet. i spent most of my running time between 2800 and 3300 rpm's occasionally easing it up to 4250-4300. im also running a hammer prop. once i get it broke in and oil changed ill get in some better running conditions and be able to find the sweet spot on the trim. i should be able to milk a little more speed out of it. this is a sweet rig and i am very happy with it. very good job done on the boat.

one last update guys. spent just a few minutes at caddo this weekend getting some more speeds. after getting the boat finished out and gator glide on the bottom i didnt notice any difference in open/deep water performance even with adding the extra weight in fuel. in clean shallow water i was seeing 32. in shallow water covered with vegetation i was seeing 33 (i could really feel the boat take off instead of slow down in the vegetation with the gator glide).

when i was testing this weekend i had 18 gallons of fuel up front, big optima battery in rear, same two people as above, 45 qt yeti, safety gear (life jackets, fire extinguisher, etc.)

the last picture shows the base coat color a little better. in the other pictures it look almost white. think maybe the reflection of the aluminum trailer had something to do with that.
