Doesn't look like you've got any bracing on that transom so you'd better keep an eye out for cracks, specifically up around those gusset plates on the corners. Those little jon boats aren't designed for that kind of power and torque and will crack, probably sooner rather than later. |

Yeah I've been trying to figure out a way to brave it, might just go ahead and take it to the welding shop in the next few weeks. And no I bought it used from swampnuts |

There are a lot of guys running 18hp motors on rivet boats with no trouble, I have a rivet boat with an 18 on it in the fleet and it has held up perfectly for the last two years, I am not easy on it either but the motor is light enough your boat should be fine stock. Timber is the only place I stay away from running the lighter rivet boats. |
