Like the motor it's fast and does good runs about 30-31 but sucks when you stop in the Lilly's while crawfishing. Thinking about switching back to a longtail again |

Cut off the cavitation plate, this will improve your performance in Lillie's and heavy vegetation. If you need pictures let me know |

I'd like to see pics as we'll! Are there any draw backs/negative effects of cutting off the cav. Plate? I've often wondered why some companies choose a cavitation plate and some don't..??.... |

When stopped in thick vegetation and Lilly's, trying to clear your prop it is like lifting a shovel full. When plate is cut in front of prop, it cuts and clears much easier |

That is actually a very good idea. It does catch in thick stuff from time to time. I increased my performance in grass by playing with the trim until I got it right. I have a longer boat and high transom though. My cavatation plate barely goes under water at idol. |

Makes a big difference in thick lillies If you look at Gator tail or Mudbuddy they have no cavitation plate and Pro drives plate doesn't cover prop |

some people have brought up the advantages....Are there any DISadvantages to doing this? Seems like once a person does this it would be hard to go back and replicate the exact angles of mounting the plate back on. |

We did not find any disadvantages Go devil always could weld a new plate back on. The original post said he was going back to a long tail , maybe he should try this before doing that. This will help him with the situation he explained |
