Boat Buying Experience:

Started my search for a Go-Devil Surface Drive Rig in Houma, LA. The Dealership I was expecting to do business with was offering a 1648 Alweld Marsh Edition Boat with a 35hp GDSD, very nice boat at a price of $13,495 after taxes. I was SOLD... So after running my credit and history (Which was very good) they came back to tell me there was a 17.4% interest on there financing option. Way higher then my local bank was willing to give me (6.1%) so I told them id ride to my bank early the next morning to take care of my paperwork. As soon as I pulled up to the bank the dealership called to tell me that they had SOLD the boat. Ya I know sucks right? SO after trying to figure out what I was gonna do to get a boat I decided to make a trip to Baton Rouge,La to the Go-Devil Manufacturer. At first I was thinking they were gonna kick me out and tell me to go to a dealership but I was VERY WRONG. There Service Desk was more then willing to help me out with all my needs and showing me around there warehouse. First Class facility at the least, they walked me through all options I can place on the boat as well as taking the time to show me a first hand look what the Surface Drives Engines and Housing was all about. While walking back to the office to talk numbers I was figuring that the rig I wanted would cost an arm and a leg. Surprisingly the cost for my 1654 GD Boat with 35hp GDSD was $14,560 out the door, bigger boat and built much better for an extra grand. The waiting period on the boat is 1 to 2 weeks which isn't bad at all considering some manufacturers.

So all in all my experience in buying a new boat had a few bumps in the road but I'm very happy with my decision. If any of you were questioning going through Go-Devil to purchase a boat I highly recommend it!!

Go Devil makes you wish all companies in the US had their CS. I have nothing but good things to say about Donna, Coco and the rest in my 10 years of dealing with them.

Yes they are super nice, as long as you have your serial number off your motor or you can't even stop after work and buy a freaking gasket!

Dittos on the customer service. I bought a used 1660 thanks to this site. I,ve purchased several small ticket items and they have treated me as if I were buying a new rig. Love the company and love the boat.

For those of you cruising this site looking for info on mud boats and trying to make a decision, you can not buy a tougher boat for the money or more reliable motor.

I have a 18x44, they are tanks! I didn't get my boat thru them, but when I call or order stuff, they are super nice!
