| Post subject: | NEW Phowler 1856 Model Mega Prowler with 37EFI Pro-Drive |
Finally got to fully load test our NEW 1856 Mega Prowler Extreme hull today! We have had it out a couple of times since ice out, but today we really put it to the test. This boat is a 56" bottom, 18' long version of our Prowler sneak boats. It has a brand new Briggs EFI Pro-Drive with trim and auto reverse. Boat had gas tank, safety equipment on board. Here are the results from deep water tests, in main channel averaged for against current and with current: One Man (290lbs) - 28mph (from our previous test last week) Two Men(290 and 250) - 26 mph(from our previous test last week) Three Men (290, 250, 190) 25 mph(from our previous test last week) Four Men + (290, 190, 230, 250 and 60 lbs girl) 24 mph Five Men - (same load plus 300 lbs man) 21 mph Six Men (same as five man plus me 190lbs) 19 mph. This final load was a total of 1510 lbs of people alone!! The boat ran great, handle the chop well in a 15-25 mph wind WSW cross wind. It planned out very quickly with up to the five man load, six man load took about 20 yard to reach full plane. Boys went back in the mud as well and said the boat performed amazing in the shallows and mud, jumped right on step with the four man and girl load. We believed this hull would do this when we started building them, but even we were impressed with the ride, stablity and planeing properties of this new hull. Steve and Greg, we can't wait to start your new 1860 model Mega Prowlers in a few weeks!!! |
