Post Prodigy 1854 and HDR4400
Hey everyone, this is one of my first couple posts on here as I am pretty new to the site. Just wanted to say hello before I posted this. Anyhow, got the first mud rig yesterday after selling our old boat and boy is she sweet. I must say the craftsmanship put into these boats is second to none. Chad and Ashley are great people to deal with and help you with everything throughout the entire build process. If you are looking for a new rig, IMO you cannot beat a Prodigy.

MM Brand: Mud Buddy
Horsepower: 4400 HDR
Boat brand: Prodigy
Boat size: 1854
Boat layout: Open

Speeds in deep water: 28 steady, bumped 29 a couple times
Total boat load with gear: About 450. 3 guys (350), 6 gallons of gas, and a battery.
Conditions tested in: deep water with slight chop and winds from 5-10 mph
Comments: Boat and motor ran very well. Still breaking it in so hopefully I may see some increase in speed after a few hours. The motor is gonna take a little bit of getting used to since it is my first mud motor but I did think it was rather easy to operate. Just need some more tiller time. Reverse pulls like a champ. Yanked almost the whole hunt deck down in deep water at around 3100 RPMS.

Good looking rig. I did my blind as well with the material supplied by Chad. The tubing makes an awesome blind frame

Let me know what kind of speeds you're getting with just you and gas when you get to run her again.

Thanks gentlemen. She is purdy. MicahB I probably won't be able to get the boat out again by myself until next Tuesday or Wednesday but I'll just add on to this post when I do

Finally was able to get the boat out today. Ran her by myself waiting on a buddy and ran 30 with me, a hunting load, battery, and 5 gallons of gas

Waders, gun, dozen dekes, blind bag, and just a couple small things in the half box that Probly aren't of any significance to the speed. I'm expecting 31 steady and bumping 32 a few times with only me, gas, and battery but we'll see in between splits

I just got back from the dealer putting together a package almost exactly like yours. Hoping you could give me an update on your rig. Is there anything you would have gotten different? Did you get the EFI or Carbs? Have you done any mods? Thanks in advance.

I got a light bar bracket from them so i wouldnt have to build one, then bought my own light bar to put on it. if you want the high dollar light bars, then that's all you. I preferred to save $300 and put my own.

Awesome rig! Looking at a rig close to yours. Did you feel that the 1854 felt big or it didn’t seem to be a factor.. I was running a1652 outboard boat/motor really looking at the 1852/1854 surface drive setup.
