Where is a decent place to stay near the launch?

definately a fun time but in june it gonna be a hot one in sc. dat just means we gotta drink mo beer

There are tons of nice hotels in Sumter, SC which is only 30 minutes from the landing. that would probably be the best bet.

Look at staying in Santee or at Carolina King's cabins. More action in Santee and a few folks make a weekend of it by staying in the cabins, not too bad on the price and on the water.

What to expect? A large crowd around 300-400 folks, 200+ boats, all rednecks, 99% drinking, 98.9% drunk, bring cash, t shirts are $15 and entry fee is $25. It usually is a good time and we give out some awesome prizes. Some of the past prizes have been boat motors, blinds, dog boxes, push poles, hunting whatever's, a gun, gift certificates, etc....

There are always sites to be seen, real beauty of nature or is that natural beauty.

Hey all you rubberheads... How would a jet motor do on the poker run? Sold my mm and bought a jet. Noticed a lot of outboards and I can go where they go except for vegetation. I know the cooper river run would probably be difficult for a jet but was just wondering.

Jet would be fine just alot of stumps, no real vegatation to get you either. Bring it on down.

this will be my first year going. where on the river does mudfest take place on sunday?? im looking forward to it. im pretty sure my liver will be dead by sun up monday.

Well it is finished..................I am sure the pictures will make it over here soon but a first ever in history is a stripper pole in a duck hunting boat. All I got to say is every year this run gets wilder and wilder. Of course it raised 10k+ this year for Santee National Wildlife Refuge and Flyway Foundation. Over 500 people were in there, sold 270 hands, 375 t-shirts and picked up a truck load of trash out of the swamp.

Next year is the 10th year and it will be bigger and better than ever before.
