new prop
i just got the new prop for my rig, gotta give it to go devil, ordered it monday morn and it arrived at my door tuesday afternoon. had to pull the shaft to remove the old prop. it took my buddy @ 370# and a 48" pipe wrench to get the old one off, but it finally came off. anyhow, put the new one on today and plan to run it tomorrow. was running 18 mph @ 3390 rpm's underwater. the old prop was worn to 8 3/8" . we'll see what the new one does. will post up results later

Re: new prop
well, got down to the river today. not much difference in the top end, but the hole shot seemed instant. old prop was 9x6, the new prop is 9x4. made a few other adjustments, we'll see how it turns out next week. take care, bull

Re: new prop
Sounds like a 9x5 might be your "sweet spot" if you dropped two pitches and kept your same speed.
Let someone like Bauman out of Houston rework your old one to a 9x5 - eveyone tells me they are very happy with their work on MM props - I've always used them for my outboards and they came back better than new !

Re: new prop
thanks, thought about getting it done but the wear on the old prop is down to 8 3/8" didn't know if they could build it back that much.

Re: new prop
ya mine is getting that way that too. baumann is just now starting to do some custom stuff. They are wanting to get a good stainless muffler on the market for a reasonable price for the cheap asses like me that dont want to spend a whole paycheck on a muffler.
