I believe I went to an auto parts store and got fuel injector hose with 1/4 inch inner diameter.

Ok, I might have to do the same. Did you find a bulb with 1/4" barb fittings? The female plug to the tank is sometimes hard to find. Thanks!

I don't even run a primer bulb on my EFI setup. I don't run those quick connect fittings either. Just 1/4" ID fuel line and brass barb fittings. YMMV.

I was thinking the same thing, the fuel pump will prime it.

I don't run a primer bulb either but they are available. Google "Marine 1/4 fuel primer bulb." West Marine had one for a ridiculous price.

Thanks to all! hawilson, I live two blocks from a West Marine and I don't know how they stay in business! I go elsewhere for sure. I even asked Jake at BW but his price is also too much. Seeing as over the years I've had leaks and bulb failures, I will go with the straight line assembly (inline filter of course) and no quick connects or bulb. My last motor, a MudBuddy 27 longtail, had a hydraulic fuel pump, and I could see the benefit of the bulb for startup and in the event of pump failure I guess I could manually use the bulb and run? I will look in the auto parts store for the fuel line and see if they have the straight brass barb 1/4" fitting for the tank.

My local West Marine will match any price you find on the internet, I shop there now and look up stuff on Amazon, etc.. show them your phone and the price, voila.

If you run across one, keep it in the boat as a fail safe, dont have to hook it up.

That is good to know about West Marine matching internet prices.

My 26.5 Kohler, as I believe yours is, also has a cog driven low-pressure fuel pump before the high pressure fuel pump. You may be able to use the bulb to suffice if that low pressure pump goes out. I don't really know if that low pressure pump is needed or if the high pressure pump would perform fine without it. I assume it is there for a reason.

In case you do not already have this, here is a link to the repair manual for that engine.

Most high pressure pumps typically dont react well to being run dry, hence the low pressure pump for feed.

Replaced with straight 1/4" id marine grade fuel line. Ran great, goodbye leaky connectors and bulb- kept it for emergencies- going to get a new tank too, found some issues. KISS philosophy viable many times.
