longtail tweaking?
I have a 25 Go-devil longtail on a 1442 Alumacraft. I have a hell of a time trying to fight the engine to keep in down (from coming out of the water) when I'm running it full throttle. Any help? I don't think my shoulders can handle it another duck season.

Re: longtail tweaking?
You can also put a downward angle at the FRONT edge of the cavitation plate - as well as bending the rear tab up -or - adding an extension to the trailing edge fin - available from GoDevil....
Also if yours is equiped with the 360 swivel option - consider removing it...
Now it your boat has a 20 inch transom - you need to modify the tail more extensively to a different angle....
One last thought - old and worn props have more lift than new ones - or if someone added cup that can cause prop lift too.... Consider a new GD brand prop replacement...

Re: longtail tweaking?
Giga,
I'm not having any trouble with my shaft lifting, but I was wondering how removing the 360 swivel would help keep the prop down.

Re: longtail tweaking?
Well on a GDLT the 360 swivel option causes the motor position to be elevated about an inch - also causes the tail position to be elevated too in a round-about way....
Least that is what my GD guy told me when I wanted the 360 option - so as per his urging I skipped that add-on....
Does not apply to many other brands where it is a standard feature - just the GDLT...
