I have the swivel bracket, but i haul it hangin out the back for more storage in the boat. You may want to build some type of transom saver to reduce the shaft bouncin. |

Here is the one I built, i took a peice of 1 1/2" 1/4" wall pipe. I drilled holes in each end and ground a "channel" for the skeg in one end. Pin one end into a short peice of channel iron bolted to the trailer and the other to the skeg. bungee down the tiller and it ties all together really strong. |

I swing mine into the boat during travel down the road. I made a bracket out of two 1x4's and a couple pieces of 1/4 inch plywood. This way the it fits down inbetween the 1x4s and doesn't sit on the floor of the boat. |

The whole point in the swivel bracket is to put the motor in the boat or the shaft part anyways. Cut you out a little square out of 3/4 plywood and put it under the skeg and you'll be absolutely fine! |

I personally never saw the point of one of those swivel brackets. The handle is just about as long as the shaft. I think the handle is less than a foot shorter than the shaft thus making very little difference. Maybe if you had to make it fit into a garage but thats about it. Plus it picks the engine up higher on the transome and therefore loosing performance. If you have a short shaft motor it looses even more performance due to the angle at which the prop is in the water. I find just using a ratchet strap and looping it aroud the handle works fine. |
