Gentlemen:

I have used several kinds of throttle arrangements and have settled on a squeeze grip as the one prefered by most people.

A bicycle BMX brake lever is the least expensive option here. They are all built for 7/8" tubing. I use a 1.250" tubing tiller with 7/8" tubing in the end for the throttle and hand grip rubber. My tiller ID is 1 ". I buy 1" OD tubing for the handle and turn it to .995 OD to fit inside the tiller handle. I press it in 2" and rivet it in with 2 3/16 rivets. It makes a great connection. That is also a great connection for blind construction. I turn the 1 " down to .875 - 7/8" for the squeeze grip lever and the rubber hand grip. I make it long enough so that I can easily handle the tiller and or the squeeze grip simultaneously. My cable houseing has a polly linner and the inner cable is teflon coated . I use a small auxillary spring in the motor sinkage - depending on the motor. This makes for a very light squeeze out of the last 2 fingers of the tiller hand and fatigue is not a problem. Good luck gentlemen and enjoy your rigg!

Is there a reason you would rather have the squeeze throttle over a twist throtte? I don't care for the lever throttle on mine either, but not sure which way to go.

well i had a hyper drive and got used to it if you get your spring pressure right it really isnt that tiring got mine set up so i can rest one finger on it and hold it down

My throttle is the original one supplied by GD. It is set so that it holds it position when released. It was set that way when I brought the rig.

My question is how should the throttle be set, to hold it's position or to return when released? The motor is a lot easier to operate when the throttle holds it position but it can get you in a bind if you need to reduce the motor speed and you can not get to the throttle quickly. I always wear my kill switch and have used it a couple of times.

I also have the original level throttle from Go Devil and it sticks where ever you want it. I like that I do not to have to hold a throttle while running. When making sharp turns I will even switch hands so I can lean out to turn sharper. With a throttle that you have to hold you just lost power. Just My 2 cents.
