This past weekend I noticed my boat wouldn't plane with 3 people and the dog in the boat me 180 my dad about the same, brother in law around 200 dog 55lbs. 23 HP GD my boat 16' true flat bottom skiff. With the in law out of the boat and my niece in still couldn't get on a plane she weighs around 80 lbs. I couldn't get over half throttle without feeling water was going to start coming over the sides of the boat. When I throttle the bow would come up like it was going to plane then just flop down in the water. Any suggestions I tried to distribute some weight moved my gas tank to the front of the boat and some other small stuff. Any suggestions? |

Get a longer boat and bigger motor. |
